This was the last project I worked on at INNOCEAN Berlin for Kia Europe—a true labor of love that spanned nine months. We found the perfect partners in crime at VICE Media and set off on a creative journey through some of Europe’s most vibrant cultural hubs: Granada, Offenbach, Turin, Marseille, Manchester, and Rotterdam. Along the way, we met incredible people shaping the worlds of dance, design, arts, crafts, music, and gastronomy.
The result? A series of six short documentaries per city, two content hubs hosted by both Vice and Kia, and a rich collection of engaging articles, stunning stills, and moving imagery—far beyond a traditional campaign.
On a professional note, I couldn’t have asked for a better project. It pushed my boundaries as a creative director in ways I never expected—teaching me the art of collaboration, flexibility, and trust in a team that went above and beyond. On a personal note, it changed the way I travel. I’ve always been drawn to capital cities, but this project opened my eyes to the charm of places beyond the obvious. I fell in love with each stop along the way and will undoubtedly return with more time to absorb it all.
Like any great trip, it wasn’t all smooth sailing—there were robberies, COVID complications, tiny winding streets, and even a gas-station altercation. Plenty of stories to tell!
Huge thanks to the incredible teams at Vice, Kia Europe, and Innocean Berlin for making this journey unforgettable.
